BUCKET LIST

“eat. sip. treat.” at Austin Cake Ball

There’s always been this curious little place off to a side-corner of The Domain. I must’ve walked past it hundreds of times; essentially every time I frequent the shopping area. I knew the place sold cake balls – after all, it is called Austin Cake Ball – but I never knew much else about it. I just knew that every time I peered through the window, I decided that the place looked too pricey for me to enjoy without a guilty conscience, particularly after some retail consumerism.

Today, however, in a spur-of-the-moment type of moment, we actually stopped by and took a peek at the menu. Why, they had quite a quality happy hour menu! After a bit of store browsing, we dropped in for a drink, dinner, and dessert – all for just a little over $17 with a 20% tip included. Dare I say, what a way to not break the bank after shopping!

From their Happy Hour menu:

Eat: Red Velvet Chicken Sliders – Red Velvet Cake battered chicken sliders with caramelized onion aioli, arugula, and tomato (my absolute favorite; so unexpected and so scrumptious!)
Sip: Candy Girl – Pinnacle Cotton Candy Vodka, Champagne, homespun cotton candy, and a bit of rock candy propped on the rim

From their regular Lunch & Dinner menu:

Treat: Tiramisu cake ball – espresso, mascarpone, kahlúa, and a dusting of cocoa

Some of the Austin Cake Ball collections.
